Have you noticed that you feel a bit happier and more upbeat on sunny days than on overcast days?

It’s the same with people.

When positive people surround you, their positive outlook is contagious. You feel more positive. You can’t help it.

However, you can’t always decide who is around you. Sometimes the person is positive, and at other times negative.

But you can gradually limit contact with people who bring you down every time you speak with them.

If the relationship is essential, you don’t have to cut off all contact with the person.

Just try to limit the kinds of conversations you have and the time you spend hanging out with the person.

For example, if you’re feeling a little bummed about the relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend, you might not want to share this with someone who tends to go negative about relationships.

Just focus on small talk and save this conversation for a friend who is more optimistic, or at least not overly pessimistic.
