Davidson, J., Persons, J. B., & Tompkins, M. A. (2000). Cognitive-behavior therapy for depression: Using the thought record. APA Psychotherapy Videotape Series. Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.
In Using the Thought Record, Drs. Joan Davidson, Jacqueline B. Persons, and Michael A. Tompkins demonstrate and discuss the use of the thought record in cognitive–behavioral therapy. The thought record helps show the client how his or her negative thoughts lead to negative feelings and maladaptive behaviors. The thought record also helps promote a change in this pattern. This video provides a foundation for these two uses of the thought record, and a demonstration of each use with clients.
This video features a client portrayed by an actor on the basis of actual case material.
