Jonathan Barkin, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 25516), partner at the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and adjunct faculty at the Wright Institute. Dr. Barkin is the co-author of The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook for Teens.
Dr. Barkin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Denver. Dr. Barkin completed an internship at the University of Colorado, Boulder and post-doctoral work at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center for OCD and Anxiety.
Dr. Barkin is a contributing member to the Cognitive Behavior Therapy community, both providing training and consultation to other clinicians, and staying current on advancements in treatment. As an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Barkin provides supervision on Cognitive Behavior Therapy for kids, teens, and adults. He has previously conducted supervision and published research as part of a clinical research trial treating anxiety and depression.
Dr. Barkin treats children, teens, and adults. With children and teens, he treats anxiety disorders, mood disorders, attention/concentration problems, oppositional behavior, social skills deficits, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and adjustment struggles. With adults, Dr. Barkin has particular expertise treating various anxiety disorders, OCD, attention/concentration problems, mood disorders, and helping people adjust to life changes.
